We have been very fortunate to have had such a great summer in terms of weather but at a personal level as well as professional it could not have been better.
My brother from the USA visited and I had not seen him in 7 years.My lovely mum is not in great health so he was keen to see her and the visit really perked her up.
We trained for a family triathlon. One of my sons completed the whole triathlon – 1 mile swim,25 mile bike ride and 7,25 mile run in 3hr 16 mins. He raised over £500 for Marie Curie Trust and we are so proud of him. My husband friend and myself completed it as a team and I earned my first triathlon medal. A great achievement and great celebrations.
To receive an honorary degree from the University of Bradford was something I could never have contemplated but it actually happened. The best bit was that my family were included in every step of the way and we were all treated like VIPS for a day. It was amazing and huge thanks to VC Professor Brian Cantor, Professor Grace Alderton and Professor Gwendolen Bradshaw for a day I will never forget.
